Why does my circuit breaker keep tripping?
Frequent breaker trips usually indicate an overloaded circuit, a short circuit, or a ground fault. Common causes include too many appliances on one circuit, damaged wiring, or a failing appliance. Our electricians can diagnose the exact cause and recommend the right fix, whether it's redistributing loads, adding a new circuit, or repairing faulty wiring.
Is a burning smell from an outlet an emergency?
Yes. A burning smell near an outlet, switch, or electrical panel is a potential fire hazard and should be treated as an emergency. Stop using it and stay away from it — do not go to the panel and do not touch the breaker. If there is fire or smoke, or anyone is in danger, get out and call 911. Then call us and we will get someone out.
Why are some of my outlets not working?
Dead outlets can be caused by a tripped breaker, a tripped GFCI outlet elsewhere on the circuit, a loose wire connection, or a damaged outlet. Before calling, check your breaker panel and press the reset button on any GFCI outlets in the area. If that doesn't solve it, our electricians can quickly diagnose and repair the issue.
