What the work involves.
Electric vehicle owners need a reliable, safe charging solution at home. Standard outlets provide slow charging, while a dedicated Level 2 EV charger can fully charge your vehicle overnight. Proper installation requires a dedicated circuit, appropriate wire sizing, and often a panel upgrade to handle the additional load. DIY installation is not recommended due to safety concerns and code requirements.
Most EV charger installations involve running a new 240V circuit from your electrical panel to the charging location (garage, driveway, or parking area). Depending on your panel capacity and the distance to the charger, we may recommend a panel upgrade. We handle all aspects of the installation - from permitting to final testing - ensuring your charger is installed safely and ready to use.

Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger?
Not always, but it depends on your current panel capacity. A Level 2 EV charger typically requires a 40-50 amp dedicated circuit. If your panel is already near capacity (common in older 100A panels), a panel upgrade to 200A may be needed. We assess this during our initial consultation and let you know upfront.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging?
Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and adds about 3-5 miles of range per hour - fine for plug-in hybrids but very slow for full EVs. Level 2 uses a 240V dedicated circuit and adds 25-30 miles per hour, fully charging most EVs overnight. We install Level 2 chargers for the best home charging experience.
Can you install any brand of EV charger?
Yes, we install all major brands including Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Grizzl-E, Emporia, and more. If you already have a charger, we'll install it. If you need help choosing one, we can recommend options based on your vehicle and charging needs.
How much does EV charger installation cost in Wisconsin?
It depends on the distance from your panel to the charger location and whether any panel upgrades are needed — that does not include the charger unit itself. We provide a detailed written estimate after assessing your specific situation, before any work begins.
