Around Kewaskum.
Kewaskum is named for a Potawatomi leader who lived in the area in the 1840s. The village itself traces back to a mill built on a horseshoe bend of the Milwaukee River in the 1850s. The railroad arrived in the 1870s, and in 1919 the Kewaskum Aluminum Company started making cookware here. That business later became Regal Ware.
What makes Kewaskum stand out is what's around it. The Kettle Moraine State Forest Northern Unit begins just to the northeast, with Mauthe Lake a short drive up County S and County GGG. The Ice Age Trail and the Eisenbahn State Trail both pass nearby. West Bend is a few miles south on US 45, and Campbellsport and New Fane are to the north. A small piece of the village extends into Fond du Lac County, which we also serve.

Kewaskum's housing is newer than most villages in our area. Census estimates (ACS 2020–2024) show about 30% of homes built in the 2000s and roughly 40% built in 2000 or later overall. The median home dates to about 1995. There's still an older core, with about 18% of homes built before 1960, many near downtown and the river.
