Most people know Cedar Grove for the replica windmill in Windmill Park on South Main Street and for Holland Fest, held in Memorial Park the last Friday and Saturday of July, when the street gets scrubbed before the parade. The village sits just off I-43 at Exit 113, with Oostburg to the north, Belgium to the south, and the Lake Michigan shoreline, the Amsterdam Dunes preserve and the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary to the east. Kids from both villages go to school together in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District.
Getting here from Random Lake is a short drive east, which makes Cedar Grove an easy trip for us.
Homes and electrical work
Cedar Grove's housing is a real mix. Census estimates (ACS 2020–2024) put about 18% of the village's homes before 1940, a steady run of houses from the 1960s through the 1980s, and roughly a third built in 1990 or later on the newer streets. Each era brings its own electrical questions:
